Happy Ever After! Shelby was officially adopted! The generosity of our amazing cat-loving community turned Shelby’s life around, giving him the fairy tale ending he deserved. Shelby was a stray that lost a leg and then severely injured one of his three remaining legs. Without some help, the outlook was very grim. But a good Samaritan brought him to us and money was raised for the expensive surgery to repair his severely dislocated ankle fracture that had healed wrong. The surgery was successful and he finished his rehabilitation in a foster home. After charming his foster family (like he did us!), they decided to keep him. His new name is Charlie. He has a wonderful canine companion in the home. We wish Charlie and his new family all the best!!

NERISSA 14feb2019 when she first met us_June 19, 2020 - 2020-06-19 at 19-34-58.jpg

Nerissa came to us almost two years ago. She was found as a stray near the Sound (her name means sea nymph). It was immediately apparent that she had some bad experiences with people. She was initially terrified of anyone getting too close. But no one gave up on her.

With time, patience and some very special people working with her, this beautiful 3-year-old nymph is now ready for a special, forever home. Nerissa needs a patient, cat-savvy family (no children) that will give her time and space to adjust. In return, the family will be rewarded with an adoring, playful and loving family member. She is good with other gentle, respectful cats. Nerissa has her special people - could you be one of them?
