Lap Cat Extraordinaire!

One of the benefits of adopting an adult cat is a predictable personality. We can guarantee Mariya will be a lap cat and cuddle bug. She’s been with us several months and takes advantage of EVERY opportunity to crawl into someone’s lap.

Mariya will stay in your lap as long as you let her. She is very sweet and gentle. This gorgeous, petite, stray is front-declawed. She is about 12 years old, but she still has SO much love to share. If you want a mellow, cuddly companion and you’ve got space on your lap, this is the perfect cat for you!

FINNIGAN

Cats, Finnigan, FOF, pets IMG_3111-Edit_December 21, 2018-2.jpg

Third Time Is the Charm! Finnigan is a gorgeous, three-year-old, Maine Coon mix who has had a run of bad luck. His original owner let him outside and he was hit by a car resulting in a severe hind leg injury. He was surrendered to us to get the medical care he needed including the amputation of his leg. He was then adopted into a family that subsequently got a second cat who he did not get along with; so, he was surrendered to us again.

Finnigan deserves a forever home! He loves attention and to be brushed and played with. He will follow you around like a puppy, but he is not needy (he just enjoys the company). Finnigan is looking for a home in which he can be the only cat. In return, he will be fabulous companion.

Star Athlete Looking for a Team: Seaton is our star athlete who was rescued from the streets. He is a handsome, high energy, one-year-old cat with a big personality. His favorite past times include tug-of-war and chasing feathers on strings. He is inquisitive and can be quite chatty. He enjoys pets and being held but sometimes he doesn't - he'll let you know!

Seaton is like many rescued tomcats, it takes a while for them to learn to communicate without love nips. If you are an experienced cat person or family (no young children) looking to draft an entertaining and active companion, Seaton could be perfect for your team!

STINKY

image1 (1) - 2018-12-26 at 15-13-05.jpg

Meet Stinky a two-year-old found on the street. He had a very rough start in life (see below). Despite his past, he is a sweet, energetic, and gentle cat who absolutely loves to be with people. Everyone who meets him is smitten and he is the rock star of the boarding facility!

In his past, we think he was hit by a car as he has a right-side head tilt, cannot blink his right eye, and has some other scars. He needs daily eye drops but none of this slows him down. Additionally, as a tomcat, he was obligated to fight other tomcats leading to his FIV-positive status. But, please don’t let this deter you. FIV-positive cats can live long and happy lives. Stinky just needs decent food, routine vet care, and lots of love (the same as any cat). FIV is passed to other cats through deep bite wounds but Stinky is not looking to fight now – he is just looking for love. He could even safely live with another cat. FIV is not transmitted from cats to humans or dogs. Ask us about FIV. Also, the bestfriends.org website has some good information on FIV if you click here.

Stinky is an amazing, resilient, and charming cat who will bring someone or some family a lot of joy. Click here to submit an adoption application for Stinky.

TOFFEE

Could you open your home and heart to a less adoptable pet? Toffee, a two-year-old male, has been with us for over a year;the longest of all our current cats. He is a super-handsome, medium-energy, playful boy who likes to roll over and show you his belly. Sounds great, right? So why hasn’t he been adopted? Toffee is shy.

Toffee genuinely enjoys familiar people in calm, familiar settings and being handled on his own terms. But he is very skittish with new people, noisy settings, and being handled like a typical (more confident) cat. He would do best in a quiet home with a cat-savvy, patient owner who could give him the time and space to adjust and trust. If you are willing to make the investment, the reward will be a playful, loving companion for many years to come. He would enjoy being your one-and-only or sharing with another gentle cat.

She was obviously someone’s pet at some point. Woodsie is tame, a little shy, but very friendly. She flops down at your feet for pets and does a lot of kneading.

Woodsie is enjoying the comforts of indoor living now and looking for a home where she can practice her kneading skills and be your new best friend. Click here to fill out an adoption application for Woodsie.

Meet Salsa, a gorgeous, one-year-old, female tortoiseshell cat trapped as an older kitten. Her favorite activities in her foster home include chasing toys around and talking to the birds she watches from her indoor perch by the window.

Salsa is affectionate when she gets to know you. She’s got a little "cattitude," but isn’t this part of why we love cats? Sometimes Salsa prefers to do things on her terms but she is always gentle. Salsa prefers slow introductions and a quiet home. If you are a patient, cat-savvy person or family, this youngster could be your next best friend.

Granite is very active but is easy to pick up and hold. His fur is the opposite of his name, soft and cuddly. If you are looking for a sleek, sweet, energetic companion, this could be your cat!

Meet Happy Earl Grey. This seven-month-old kitten was rescued with a large, untreated burn on his flank. With medical care, the kitten recovered quickly and is now ready for adoption. He was named Happy because he seems to always be happy. Even when he was obviously in pain from the burn, he had a very easy-going personality.

BOBBY & BILLIE

The day we've been waiting for is here!! Siblings Billie (female) and Bobby (male) are ready for adoption. After being trapped in May, Billie thrived but Bobby did not. Bobby was diagnosed with a rare liver condition. Thanks to the kind heart of an anonymous donor, he was able to get the life-saving surgery he needed in October and now he is healthy and fully recovered.

At seven months old, the bonded pair are gentle, fun-loving, and full of kitten energy. And Bobby, perhaps because of what he has been through, is the sweetest, most affectionate kitten. The next step on their journey is to find their forever home. If you and your family want to share this journey with them, click here to submit an adoption application.

This volunteer and Just Cats staff favorite is adorably affectionate, a little fresh, and a very happy guy! His vision may be slightly impaired, but it does not slow him down. He also has a perpetually dirty face from diving into his food bowl. If you are looking for a high energy kitten with a big personality, consider Link.

BUTTERNUT

Butternut, Cats, FOF, pets _DSC4061Butternut with eyes painted_July 30, 2018.jpg

How can you resist that face? Butternut was a young tomcat trapped when we rescued some kittens. Older, more experienced toms don't easily share their territories with their younger brothers, and Butternut had plenty of battle scars to show for that. But his facial wounds have healed and he is gaining weight.

This handsome, high energy, now neutered youngster is looking to complete his transition into a home. He is smart, very attentive and has a big personality. An athletic cat, he loves to play and exercise. Like many adults rescued from the street, he is focused on food and like most young toms, love nips are still part of his vocabulary. However, with time, we expect both behaviors will subside. If you are an experienced cat person or family (older children only) looking for an energetic companion, Butternut could be for you!
