Charlie 1_JD - 2018-05-29 at 17-05-04.jpg
It is always heartwarming when an adopter asks to see our less adoptable cats. This past weekend, one such couple adopted Charlie. Somewhere along the way Charlie had been trapped, neutered, ear tipped and returned to where he was found outside, but this senior orange boy was never feral.

We were happy to take him when his caregiver moved and sure we'd find him a home. Unfortunately, it was determined this sweet boy has an infiltrative intestinal disease that will shorten his life. Charlie found his family anyway and with this special adoption, Charlie gets to enjoy the comforts of a loving home!

WHY FOF? WHY TRAP-NEUTER-RETURN?

We have so many happy, successful stories to share and to celebrate at our 5th Annual Silent Auction, but we'd like you to meet Squash, a not-so-happy story but the perfect poster kitten for why Trap-Neuter-Return is so vital. This tiny girl's brother sadly died while lying next to her overnight but we are doing everything we can to ensure Squash will grow into the beautiful calico she was meant to be. For now, she can barely open her eyes.

This very orange and calico neighborhood has been overrun with upper respiratory infections for generations. If we can trap, neuter, vaccinate and return the feral adults to this street, there'll no longer be kittens born here struggling to see or to breathe, and the adults will live peacefully without the heartbreak of caring for kittens who won't survive.

LOST CAT? HERE ARE SOME HELPFUL TIPS

Seeing "lost cat" posters on poles and signs is very sad. We try to keep our cats safe, and hope it never happens to us, but sometimes a cat gets outside and becomes "lost." Here is a helpful website with steps to take when you have a lost cat. Click on lost cat to learn more.
