Jax, 4 year old male
FEATURED FELINE
Jax: An Energetic Goofball with a Big Heart
DOB: 4/25/22
Jax is a joyful, big-hearted goofball who lives life in energetic bursts followed by long, cozy naps. One minute he’s zooming around like a tiny athlete, the next he’s dozing in one of his carefully chosen favorite spots. He loves being near his people, often hanging out in the same room while everyone does their own thing. When the mood strikes, he’ll happily sprawl on top of you for cuddles - always on his terms. Jax is a nonstop purr machine, incredibly personable, and genuinely enjoys meeting new people. Playtime is his favorite way to bond, and he brings enthusiasm and joy to every interaction.
Because Jax feels everything in big ways, he’s best suited for a cat-savvy home without young children - one that understands playful over-stimulation and can read his cues. When he’s overwhelmed, overly excited, or impatient for food, he may nip, but with routine, redirection, and interactive play, these moments are very manageable. Being held feels a bit too restrictive for his free spirit, though he tolerates brief hugs and short pick-ups when needed.
Curious and clever, Jax enjoys exploring high places and staying involved in whatever his people are doing. He would thrive in a home with space to explore, plenty of enrichment, and people who want a fun, affectionate companion who truly wants to be part of the pack.
Think you might be the perfect match for this big-hearted goofball?

Because kittens thrive with a feline friend, Artemis should be adopted with another kitten or into a home with a young, playful companion.

He has medium energy, enjoys playing with toys, watching the world outside the window, and soaking up attention from his people. Bennett purrs almost nonstop when he’s being loved on and enjoys snuggling, though he’ll politely let you know when he’s had enough.
Currently in a foster home, Bennett enjoys being brushed and even tolerates nail trims. He hasn’t had experience with other cats or young children, so a patient introduction—or a home where he can soak up all the attention—may be best.
Bennett is FIV-positive but healthy and is expected to live a normal lifespan with the same quality and timely veterinary care any cat should receive.
If you’d like to meet Bennett, please submit an adoption application

DOB: 5/4/25
Callie is a sweet, gentle girl who shows her love with soft head bumps, affectionate rubs, and quiet companionship. She has never bitten or scratched, loves being petted and brushed, and enjoys chasing feather wands and soccer balls.
She currently lives in an office at our veterinary hospital, where she's formed a close bond with her human office mate. Because the hospital can be busy and noisy, Callie spends much of the day tucked safely in her cozy cave bed. Early in the morning and after hours when the office is quiet, she comes out to explore, watch the world from the window, play with her toys, and happily soak up attention. It takes her a little time to warm up to new people, but once she does, her affectionate, sweet personality shines.
Sensitive to noise, Callie would thrive in a calm, predictable home where she can feel safe and secure. She's fine being picked up briefly but prefers all four paws on the ground, content to sit beside you and enjoy your company.
Callie has also shown a friendly interest in gentle cats and kittens, making her a potential buddy for the right feline friend.
If you're looking for a kind-hearted companion who will reward your patience with quiet devotion, Callie could be your perfect match.
Not quite ready to adopt? Fostering or foster-to-adopt could give Callie the peaceful home she needs to truly blossom while she waits for her forever family.

Found outside Stamford Animal Control, Carina was likely abandoned — but this stunning black beauty hasn’t let that dim her spirit. About 2 years old, she’s confident, playful (she loves the laser pointer), and easy to handle. Once she feels safe, she’s incredibly affectionate, rubbing against your legs or climbing right into your lap.
Carina prefers to be the only cat and will need a little time to adjust to new surroundings — but with patience (and a few treats, since she’s very food motivated), she’ll reward you with love and loyalty.
Carina’s ready for a forever home where she’ll never be left behind again.

Sweet Chai enjoys exploring at her own pace and will often settle near you once her curiosity is satisfied. She is affectionate once she knows and trusts you — accepting pets, rubbing against legs, or lounging close by — but she appreciates having her boundaries respected and will let you know when she needs space. At the moment, Chai is wary of being picked up, so needs a patient adopter in a quiet home where she is most likely to shine.
Chai is fairly independent and wants to keep some distance between herself and other cats, so she may do best as an only pet or, given enough space, with a very calm companion.
We can look at the stars and see Chai's future as a sweet, devoted presence in your world. She'd be a great cat to come home to! Ready to meet our little star? Fill out an application through our website https://fofct.org/adoption-application. Applicants must live within 45 miles of Stamford.

These two handsome boys are the perfect mix of playful and easygoing. They are friendly, relaxed, and wonderful little companions who enjoy each other’s company (and are great with other cats, too!). With their medium energy level, they love to play and explore, but they’re also happy to slow down for some affection and attention.
Both kittens are easy to pick up, sweet-natured, and have personalities that make them a joy to be around. Whether they’re romping together or simply hanging out, Charlie Bucket and Pony Boy are happy kittens.
This bonded pair, which must be adopted together, would make a wonderful addition to a loving family looking for double the fun and cuddles.
If you’d like to meet them, please submit our online adoption application

Like many young former tomcats, Clooney may sometimes use his paws or mouth to communicate excitement or ask for attention, so he would do best in a home with adults or older children who understand cat body language and will appreciate his spirited personality. We are not sure how he feels about other cats.
If you’re looking for a handsome, entertaining companion with lots of personality and affection to share, Clooney may be your perfect match.

With his soft, expressive eyes and sweet “old-soul” face, Crosby has a way of drawing you in from the moment you meet him. He seeks out attention, happily greeting you for pets, leaning in for cheek rubs, and offering enthusiastic head-butts. And when it’s time to relax? Crosby is more than ready to settle in for some quality lap time.
Crosby’s heart belongs to people—but not to other cats. Because of his past experiences, he’s looking for a home where he can be your one and only. Like many former tomcats, Crosby can sometimes get a little overstimulated and may nip when his feelings get big. He’s still learning how to communicate those moments, so a cat-savvy adopter (and a home with older children) will help him continue to thrive.
He is on a special diet to manage urinary crystals, which will be important for maintaining his long-term health.
Crosby is the kind of cat who forms a deep, meaningful bond with his person or family. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a gentle spirit, a handsome face, and so much love to give—Crosby is ready to be your guy.
If you’d like to meet Crosby, please submit the online adoption application

Her foster mom said it best: “This girl just wants to have fun.” Wand toys and fuzzy toy mice are her favorites, leading to energetic displays of athleticism and comedy. But once she winds down, she’s easy to handle and affectionate, making her a delight in every way.
Dani must be adopted with another young cat, with exceptions made if you already have an age- and energy-appropriate companion for her in your home.
Dani is ready to bring nonstop smiles and happy chaos to her forever home.

Like any happy kitten, Dory loves to play, explore, and turn everyday moments into fun little adventures. Once she's burned off some of that kitten energy, she's more than happy to soak up affection, purr in your lap, and spend quality time with you.
Dory must be adopted with another kitten unless you already have an age- and energy-appropriate companion for her at home. She'll thrive with a playful friend to wrestle, cuddle, and grow up alongside.

🐾 Independent and full of personality — Honey knows exactly what she likes and isn't shy about expressing it.
🍗 A treat lover — Snacks are the quickest way to her heart and often help earn a few gentle pets.
🎣 Playful in moderation — She enjoys the occasional wand toy session and interactive play.
🏡 Looking for a quiet home — Honey would do best as an only cat in a calm household without young children, with adopters who understand feline body language and respect boundaries.
Affection is always on Honey's terms, but for the person willing to earn her confidence, the reward can be extraordinary. Like many torties, she has the potential to form a deep, loyal bond with her chosen person—a relationship that feels less like ownership and more like being chosen by royalty.
If you think you’d be a good match for this queen of cats, please fill out an adoption application

At bedtime, she has one request: save her a spot. Her favorite way to sleep is tucked into bed with her person, wrapped up in a cozy blanket like the sweetest little burrito.
If you're looking for a kitten who will greet you with purrs, fill your home with love, and happily be your constant companion, Josephine is ready to steal your heart.
Because kittens thrive with a feline friend, Josephine should be adopted with another kitten or into a home with a young, playful companion.

Fast, funny, and always on the move, Kiwi loves to play, explore, and figure things out. She's incredibly smart, learns quickly, enjoys both people and other cats, and has a wonderfully loud purr that's sure to make you smile.
Like all of our kittens, Kiwi must be adopted with another kitten or into a home with a resident companion of similar age and energy level.
If you're looking for a playful, clever companion who will keep you laughing, Kiwi is ready to steal your heart.

When playtime is over, Lil Bit is all about the cuddles. She's incredibly sweet and affectionate, and she loves being picked up, making it easy to steal a snuggle when you need one.
Like all of our young kittens, Lil Bit must be adopted with another kitten or into a home with a young, playful companion who can match her energy and help her continue to thrive.
If you've been dreaming of a tiny best friend with a brave spirit, gentle heart, and endless sweetness, Lil Bit is ready to make your home a whole lot happier.

This big, energetic boy loves his catnip, the laser pointer, and chasing wand toys. He’s a bright, confident cat and is learning to walk on a harness. Beneath the swagger, Lorenzo also has a sweet, affectionate side and can be an absolute lovebug. He’s still a young tomcat finding his rhythm after being recently rescued and neutered, but we think he’s entertaining and very charming.
If you’re looking for a striking, playful companion with loads of personality, Lorenzo’s your guy.

with an Independent Spirit. DOB: 5/14/24. Lucinda is a beautiful independent girl with a playful streak and a delightfully silly side that emerges once she feels comfortable. Found trying to survive on the streets, pouncing on anything that might resemble lunch, she now greatly enjoys leisurely playtime. Feather wands, tunnels, and rope toys are among her favorite things, and watching her leap and tumble after them is guaranteed to make you smile. Though initially very shy when she first arrived, Lucinda has been growing noticeably braver every day — exploring more, gently taking treats from hands, and even leaning into pets from trusted volunteers.
While Lucinda loves interactive play, she is not a clingy cat. She values her personal space and prefers companionship on her own terms, so taking things slowly and earning her trust is an important part of bonding with her. Lucinda does not enjoy other cats and would do best as the only pet in a calm, quiet home with a patient, cat-savvy adopter - someone who appreciates the quieter, more independent side of cats and who will find great reward in watching her slowly blossom.
If you’d like to learn more about this beautiful girl, please submit an application

These adorable mini house panthers are playful, easy to pick up, and always up for a game or a new adventure. Once they've burned off their kitten energy, they're more than happy to settle in for some affection and quality time with their people.
Because of their close bond, Maurice and Percy must be adopted together. If you're looking for a ready-made pair of playful companions, these brothers are waiting to meet you.

Moo is the kind of cat who bonds deeply. Gentle and mellow with a playful spark, he loves catnip, gets the occasional zoomies, and will absolutely impress you with his jumping skills. But his signature move? Big, heartfelt head butts—his way of making sure you know you’re his.
Moo has asthma that’s controlled with daily medication (pills and an inhaler, which he takes like a champ). His care comes with an estimated monthly cost of ~$300. He also has FIV, but with proper care, he can live a long, happy life. Ask us for more information about FIV. Here is a good starter FAQ from a reliable source: https://www.texaspetsalive.org/uploads/resources/Austin-Pets-Alive-FIV-FAQ-52F6.pdf.
Moo is looking for a home where he can be your one and only—no other pets, just him soaking up all the love and giving it right back tenfold. He’s ready to settle into being someone’s constant companion with a kind of love that is priceless.
We know Moo’s person is out there—someone ready to commit to him the way he’ll commit to you. We are looking for a foster, foster-to-adopt, or adopter to give him that chance.
Apply to meet Moo: fofct.org/adoption-application. Adopters must live within 45 miles of Stamford, CT

Cacio e Pepe balances her perfectly. She's gentle, thoughtful, and likes to observe the world before joining the fun. While she may need a little time to warm up in a new environment, once she feels safe, she's a sweet, affectionate companion with an impressive purr of her own. One of her favorite pastimes is sitting by the window, watching the action outside.
Together, they're exactly what kittens should be—racing through the house, wrestling, chasing each other, and turning just about anything into a toy. Their favorites are toy mice and wands, and after they've burned off their energy, they're more than happy to settle in for pets and purrs.
They truly are the perfect pair and must be adopted together.

Pippin was formerly known as “Pigpen,” but we felt Pippin – meaning “one who is highly admired” – was a better fit for him. Here’s how the volunteers who know him and love him best have described him:
“He is a great player but he is also such a gentle soul. He will sit with you, let you pet him and just the way he so delicately takes a treat from your hand… he is a sweet, sweet boy. His fur is also so shiny and silky!!! I love him so much.”
“When he comes to trust and know you, he loves pets, especially crawling into your lap to get all the attention. He is a goofy guy, sits in fun poses, plays great with toys and is entertaining to watch, but also enjoys lounging and watching out the window.”
“He is a quirky, goofy ball of love! His needs are simple: a cat dancer toy, a lap and the right person to love!”
“Hands down … my favorite cat at FOF. He’s got such a kind, innocent, easygoing and gentle demeanor. You can see he desperately wants a feline friend.”
If you would like to meet our pal Pippin, please submit the online adoption application on our website: https://www.fofct.org/adoption-application. Applicants must live within 45 miles of Stamford, CT.

Found alone as a tiny, sick, and injured kitten, Rascal spent his early months fighting to survive rather than learning to trust. His recovery took time, and while he got the medical care he needed, the lack of early socialization left him unsure about people. Still, he's made progress—especially lately. Volunteers who spend time with him report that he is curious and interactive, asks for pets, and enjoys playtime.
Like many cats stuck in a cage for too long, Rascal finds the confinement frustrating. He’s known to swipe and hiss when it's time to go back in—and honestly, we get it. It's likely his worst behavior is tied more to circumstance than character.
Rascal has feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV), so his immune system is slightly compromised. However, he can live a full, happy life—even with other cats, as long as they get along. We can direct you to good independent resources to learn more about FIV.
We believe the shelter setting has stifled Rascal’s potential, and we’d love to see him in a calm, consistent foster or foster-to-adopt home where he can finally decompress and thrive. He needs an understanding cat person who will give him time, space, and gentle encouragement. In return, you’ll get the satisfaction of helping a once-forgotten, super handsome youngster grow into the confident cat he was always meant to be.
Looking for a rewarding rescue story? Rascal’s waiting for you.
