He is now charming all our volunteers with his good nature, curiosity, casual playfulness, and cleverness – even figuring out how to open a box of treats all on his own! This easygoing, affectionate guy loves to be pet and to lounge alongside you; he generally prefers to keep paws on the ground rather than being carried for any length of time. He is somewhere between curious and neutral about other cats.

Rascal has feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV), so his immune system is slightly compromised. However, he can live a full, happy life—even with other cats, as long as they get along. We can direct you to good independent resources to learn more about FIV.
We believe the shelter setting has stifled Rascal’s potential, and we’d love to see him in a calm, consistent foster or foster-to-adopt home where he can finally decompress and thrive.
