Jax, 2 years old, Male
FEATURED FELINE
Special Needs Spotlight: Jax is DONE with boarding and ready to break out!
Jax, our tabby adventurer with a PhD in mischief and a minor in toe-grabbing, has officially hit his limit. After months in a boarding cage waiting for a home, he’s making his feelings known by enthusiastically ambushing volunteers' feet and legs.
This nearly 2-year-old bundle of energy was never meant for confinement. Jax is smart, playful, curious, and absolutely bursting with personality. However, the stress of being cooped up is starting to show, and he needs more space and stimulation than a cage and a daily volunteer visit can provide.
But here's the good news—Jax is more than just a wild child. He genuinely enjoys human interaction, will climb into a lap when he’s feeling relaxed, and seeks out affection when he’s not busy plotting his next great escape. He’s got love to give—he just needs the right person to share it with.
Jax isn’t for everyone, but if you:
- Have cat experience (especially with bold personalities),
- Are looking for a one-cat show,
- Appreciate feline antics and feline affection,
- Have a sense of humor and a soft spot for spirited underdogs…
You just might be Jax’s perfect match. He doesn’t need pity—he needs playtime, freedom, and a human who gets him. Whether you foster, foster-to-adopt, or jump right in with both feet (watch out for your ankles), you’ll be helping a cat who just wants to live life loud—and love big.
Take the Jax Challenge. Help him break free. Submit an adoption or foster application, we’d love to chat with you about Jax.

Our big, beautiful boy, Alfred, came to us from one of our feeding stations about a year ago. He seemed to be an old, stiff street cat worn down by life outdoors, and with winter setting in, we brought him inside. But when our vet examined him, we learned he was much younger than he looked; it was only his injured, shattered paw and gimpy hip damaged in some unknown trauma that made Alfred seem so ancient.
One year later, Alfred has absolutely blossomed in foster care. This 4-year-old boy has healed well enough to be a happy and mellow purring machine craving attention and companionship. Pat the couch next to you; he’ll be by your side in a flash. Hold up a brush, and he’ll take the lead, rubbing his chin against it, almost grooming himself!
Like many former tomcats biologically forced to fight for territory and love, Alfred tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). But Alfred will live a normal life if given the love and care all cats deserve. What's most important about our Alfred is he’s a big, handsome, and soulful boy looking for a family to cuddle with.

Found outside Stamford Animal Control, Carina was likely abandoned — but this stunning black beauty hasn’t let that dim her spirit. About 2 years old, she’s confident, playful (she loves the laser pointer), and easy to handle. Once she feels safe, she’s incredibly affectionate, rubbing against your legs or climbing right into your lap.
Carina prefers to be the only cat and will need a little time to adjust to new surroundings — but with patience (and a few treats, since she’s very food motivated), she’ll reward you with love and loyalty.
Carina’s ready for a forever home where she’ll never be left behind again.

According to her foster mom, Clara is as loving as they come. She thrives on affection and gently reminds you when she’s ready for more snuggles—rubbing against your hands, nuzzling your face, and ensuring she’s always close. You can carry her, smother her with kisses, stroke her from nose to tail—she loves it all, even belly rubs!
She is laid back; loud noises and unexpected movements don’t faze her.
Clara has one simple request: to be the queen of your heart and your home. Other cats? No, thank you! She much prefers to have all the attention to herself.
If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will adore you endlessly, Clara is your girl. She is estimated to be around 2 years old.
She’s ready to be someone’s beloved pet again—could it be you? If you’d like to meet her, please submit our online adoption application:

Now thriving, Darcy is intelligent, playful, and confident. She can hold her own with cats twice her size and loves a good play session. She also enjoys cuddling up for some people time.
Darcy gets along well with other cats. Like most young kittens, she will need a friend in her new home. So she should be adopted with another one of our kittens unless you already have an age- and energy-appropriate companion in your home for her.
If you’re looking for a kitten who is equal parts spunky and snuggly, Darcy is ready to steal your heart.

Lilo is a uniquely spirited girl with lots of charm and main character energy in a tiny little body - with an adorable white-tipped artiste tail! Her routine with volunteers goes something like this: pets and cuddles… followed by lively play… then a cozy rest… and repeat. She is described as “a little riot,” “always a hoot,” “energetic,” “athletic,” and simply so much fun to be around. She brings joy to every moment, whether she’s snuggling in or showing off her playful moves.
Lilo will be happiest as the only pet in her home. She’s looking for adopters who have time to spend with her—people who enjoy an affectionate, interactive feline who loves being part of whatever you’re doing.
💛 If you’re looking for a kitten with personality, sweetness, and endless charm, Lilo could be your girl. To meet her, please submit the adoption application

This big, energetic boy loves his catnip, the laser pointer, and chasing wand toys. He’s a bright, confident cat and is learning to walk on a harness. Beneath the swagger, Lorenzo also has a sweet, affectionate side and can be an absolute lovebug. He’s still a young tomcat finding his rhythm after being recently rescued and neutered, but we think he’s entertaining and very charming.
If you’re looking for a striking, playful companion with loads of personality, Lorenzo’s your guy.
To meet Lorenzo, please submit our online adoption application

Maggie’s favorite activity? Wand toys! She’s a true acrobat, leaping mid-air with impressive agility, turning every play session into a fun-filled show. When she’s not chasing toys, Maggie enjoys head and chest rubs, and volunteers have even managed to sneak in a few kisses when she’s feeling extra affectionate. Her curiosity and confidence shine through as she explores new spaces and greets new people with ease.
While Maggie has no shortage of love for her humans, she’s not the biggest fan of sharing her space with other cats. She’d be happiest as the queen of her castle, soaking up all the attention in her forever home.
If you’re looking for a lively, affectionate, and entertaining companion, Maggie is ready to charm her way into your heart.

This confident and athletic girl thrives in an active environment. Mia’s favorite pastimes include chasing feather toys, racing up and down stairs, and leaping through the air like a professional acrobat. When she needs a break, she’ll quickly flop onto the floor to recharge before diving back into the fun. Mia’s foster mom describes her as "play hard, rest hard." Mia will be a happy, fulfilled cat with regular play and plenty of mental stimulation.
Mia would do best as the center of attention in her forever home. She may get along with younger, playful male cats willing to let her call the shots, but she’s not a fan of senior cats. She hasn’t been introduced to dogs or children, but her energy and love of attention suggest she could adapt well to a home with respectful kids who can help her stay active and entertained.
Mia’s playful quirks and unique personality make her truly one of a kind. From her cute “joker face” smile during pets to her adorable bowlegged “tough girl” walk, she’ll keep you smiling and laughing daily. If you’re looking for an energetic, social, and loving companion who will brighten your life, Mia might be your perfect match!

Peekaboo may have had a rough start, but this stunning young cat is blossoming into a gentle soul with an abundance of love to give. Rescued at just 4 months old from a large community cat project, she spent the early part of her life battling painful medical issues. After months in the hospital, Peekaboo understandably learned to associate humans with scary pokes and prodding—and she kept her distance.
But now, at one year old, Peekaboo is healthy and making incredible progress. Her true personality is beginning to shine through. She’s playful, purry, and sweet, and she loves getting affection from volunteers when they visit her in her cage. As she gains confidence outside of her cage, she’s showing signs that she’s ready to leave the past behind and step into a loving forever home.
Peekaboo would thrive in a calm, quiet environment with a kind and patient adopter who understands that trust takes time—and that the rewards are well worth it. She’s treat-motivated and responds beautifully to gentle encouragement. Based on her mellow attitude toward the other cats in the facility, we believe she’d be happy sharing a home with another gentle, respectful feline friend.
If you're the sort of person who finds joy in watching a once-shy cat learn to trust and love, Peekaboo is ready to meet you. Give this beauty a chance to write her next chapter in a home filled with peace, patience, and kindness. The first step is to submit our online adoption application

Like their namesakes, Penne and Polenta are pure comfort: warm, satisfying, and guaranteed to make you smile. They’re wildly playful, affectionate, and full of kitten curiosity—the kind of duo that turns a house into a home.
These sisters share a close bond and must be adopted together.
If you’re looking to add a little comfort and joy to your life, Penne and Polenta are ready to serve it up.

From his foster mom:
Pierre is a wonderful cat—very soft, incredibly affectionate, and always asking for pets. He LOVES cuddles and is the perfect TV-watching buddy. He also enjoys playing with the laser and batting balls around.
Pierre has one non-negotiable: he cannot live with other cats and must be the only feline in your home.
He’s perfect for someone who wants a cuddly, devoted companion who enjoys both playtime and snuggle time. He’ll follow you from room to room just to be near you.
Pierre is on a special urinary diet and will need to stay on it to keep him healthy, but he eats it happily.

Found alone as a tiny, sick, and injured kitten, Rascal spent his early months fighting to survive rather than learning to trust. His recovery took time, and while he got the medical care he needed, the lack of early socialization left him unsure about people. Still, he's made progress—especially lately. Volunteers who spend time with him report that he is curious and interactive, asks for pets, and enjoys playtime.
Like many cats stuck in a cage for too long, Rascal finds the confinement frustrating. He’s known to swipe and hiss when it's time to go back in—and honestly, we get it. It's likely his worst behavior is tied more to circumstance than character.
Rascal has feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV), so his immune system is slightly compromised. However, he can live a full, happy life—even with other cats, as long as they get along. We can direct you to good independent resources to learn more about FIV.
We believe the shelter setting has stifled Rascal’s potential, and we’d love to see him in a calm, consistent foster or foster-to-adopt home where he can finally decompress and thrive. He needs an understanding cat person who will give him time, space, and gentle encouragement. In return, you’ll get the satisfaction of helping a once-forgotten, super handsome youngster grow into the confident cat he was always meant to be.
Looking for a rewarding rescue story? Rascal’s waiting for you.

This sweet boy’s favorite activities include snuggling into laps (and purring!), chasing the laser pointer, exploring tunnels, and indulging in a bit of catnip now and then. He’s food-motivated, which makes bonding and training extra fun.
He also enjoys being in the company of other cats. His play style is very physical, so a home with another playful cat that can match his energy would be ideal.
Like many kittens rescued at an older age, Woodstock may approach new people and situations with some caution. However, with a bit of patience, he adapts beautifully and reveals himself to be an incredibly lovable cat.
The ideal home for Woodstock would be relatively quiet, with a feline friend to keep him company. If you’re ready to provide a calm and loving environment, Woodstock will reward you with endless affection and playful antics.
Could Woodstock be the one for you💖? If you want to meet him, please submit the online application

This exquisite dark gray tabby enjoys lap time, hanging out with her foster mom, and soaking up pets. She’ll shyly approach when she wants affection but then melt into your touch. Xena is also a playful youngster, horsing around with her brother or playing with mouse toys independently. She’s also an avid birdwatcher, whether through the window or on YouTube.
Because Xena spent the first six months struggling to survive outdoors, she can be cautious with new people and situations. But once she adjusts to her new home, she will be a devoted and fun companion.
She must be adopted into a home with another cat for companionship and playtime. While she and her brother, Thor, would make a fantastic pair, they do not have to be adopted together.
This little princess is ready for a loving, patient home where she can continue to thrive. Does this sound like a good match for you? Submit an adoption application today
